Is this a good short story? Comment?

Is this a good short story? Comment?
This is from my worthy of publishing page (under the username Jessy* if you wanted to check it out, at worthyofpublishing.com ;) Ya if you would please give comment and feedback on it :) rate 1-10 :) (this is just in case you wanna, guess how old I am based on my writing, will give best answer!!) Alexi Brice was only eight when she found out. What, exactly happened? Not even she knows the answer to that. All she knew was that her and her brother had been selected. They were to become Russian agents. Not by choice, but by force. Having lived in Russia for most of their lives, the twins Alexi and Nikolai were pretty familiar with their surroundings. Moscow was a pretty popular city, and most people there looked like they had something to hide, something to regret. At first, the two of them refused. So they were tied up, and had knifes to their necks with a little drop of blood flowing down the side, just enough to make them surrender. Alexi remembers it like it was yesterday. “Nikolai,” she had choked to her brother through the gag, thinking that their lives were to end, “no matter what happens, we stick together.” Nikolai looked at her through the corner of his eye. “I think it’s too late, Alexi. We… we can’t make it this time. I'm… I'm sorry,” he wined, only barely making out these words. It was at this moment that she saw the Russians slit her brother’s neck, right in front of her. As the knife slid into his skin, Alexi jumped out of her chair, her heart racing. The tears flooded her face, and the Russians held her back. “No!! Nikolai! Wha- why?! You- you killed him…” she screamed, huffing and puffing. She cried and cried and cried, until finally she agreed to be an agent for the Russians. She hadn’t the slightest idea what she was getting into. She didn’t even know why the Russians took them. They had killed their parents, and taken Alexi and her brother hostage. Six years later, after hard labor, and years of painful punishments, Alexi devised a plan. She was going to escape. She was going to get back to the States. She carefully planned out how she would do it. She was going to sneak out of the assigned dorms, in the middle of the night, when the guards fall asleep. She would then manage her way to a port, where she would sneak on to the ship that sails down to Norway once a week. From there, Alexi would manage to get the money for a plane ticket back to the United States. If she found her uncle, he would know what to do. She could live with him. When midnight approached, Alexi’s heart pounded against her chest. She didn’t know what she would do if she were to be caught. So she carefully slid on her shoes and tip-toed over to the window. Nervously, she looked around the room to make sure no one was awake. Then, she cautiously and quietly opened the window, just high enough so she could squeeze herself out, and plopped down out of the small one story building. It was amazing that no one had thought to lock the window. She would love to meet the idiot who designed the place. On second note, if she were to be caught, she was dead. Outside, everything was absolutely still. No people, no animals, no nothing. Just the dirt beneath Alexi’s feet. The jet black night sky lured over her as she started to walk towards the port. Hours, it would take her to reach Suddenly, there was a noise coming from the other side of the road. “Officer, be on the lookout for a runaway,” she heard, coming from a radio of some sort. “Copy that, sir,” Alexi heard the man reply. She had completely forgotten about the night police. So she hid behind a bush, and she heard footsteps coming up behind her. .she slightly turned, just enough that she could see that the man had not noticed her yet. It would have been stupid for her to make a move, but that is exactly what she did. Whe the officer started to walk away, she stood up, and ran. She had no time to think; she made a point blank decision to run. Alexi knew that the officer was chasing her, but she could her nothing other than her hard breathing, and the sound of her slamming her feet on the ground every time she took a step. Without realizing, she had lost the man, but she continued to run. No matter how hot, tired, or dehydrated she was, she kept running, until, finally, she saw a boat. There was no one there, and the boat wasn’t due to leave for another hour. But, she made her way onto the boat, and found a corner behind a huge crate, where she was guaranteed to be safe. She had dozed off, before she had even seen anyone board the boat, which, she wasn’t planning to do for safety reasons. “Alexi,” she heard someone talking to her. “Alexi,” said the voice again. “Alexi, what are you doing? You’re going to get yourself killed.” She didn’t know where the voice was coming from, and it wasn’t one she recognized, either. “What? Who-who are you? Where am I?” said Alexi, in a soft, voice, almost soft enough to be a whisper. “Alexi, where we are doesn’t matter. It’s okay. Running away isn’t the answer. You didn’t want this life. But never run away. Escape just makes you one step closer to where you want to be, Alexi,” said the voice. “But I had to. I couldn’t live there any longer,” Alexi responded. “What is it that you want most, Alexi? The one thing that kills you on the inside. What is that one thing you want back?” Alexi remembered that day, when her parents were taken away, and her brother was killed right in front of her. A tear rolled down her cheek. “I-I want to be with my family again,” she said, so softly it was almost impossible to hear, “with my brother.” Suddenly, Alexi felt herself surrounded by water. she couldn’t tell if it was just a dream, or of the splash she had heard was merely an echo. thanks lots! - Jessa Nicole

I think its a GREAT short story! I give it a 10, no lie!
2 :
hmm, you want the truth? I think it was alright. That plot was somewhat good, but I don't feel like i want to read more. & a lot of the sentences didn't really flow well, it was choppy. Based on your writing, i'd say you're 14 or 15...? I'm 16, but I use to write like this when I was 14. & don't get me wrong, you definitely have potential. keep working on it(: 6/10
3 :
You have good action here, but the execution needs some work. The story itself is great, but not very tight and I'd give it a 6 right now. Keep working and edit as much as you can. For instance 'What exactly had happened' is a fragment. Include it in the first sentense. You also change tense. Do you want it in present or past? Not even she knew...all she knew... keep it the same. 'a little drop of blood' is wonky - it'd be more believable if one saw it in the other, not both. If it's Alexi's point of view, maybe she sees it in the brother? She wouldn't know if she was bleeding unless she felt it. Whined. If she's tied up, how did she jump out of her chair? Huffing and puffing usually happen after a long run, consider editing that out. One cried is plenty. You could make that an entire prologue. Right now it seems to jump a little too quickly to 6 years later. 'heart pounded against her chest' is cliche and besides, where else would it pound? plopped is not a very strong word. No nothing is a double negative. Just the dirt is a fragment. A sky can't lure someone somewhere, that doesn't make sense. Hours it would take her to reach what? Why not just a radio? Of some sort is not necessary. If she's running 'took a step' implies walking. Consider revising. If it's told in her point of view, why mention she didn't realize at that point? Don't start a sentence with But. Then she dozes off a little too quickly, stay with the momentum. Don't have soft two times in the same sentence, just say she whispered. What does this mean 'Escape just makes you one step closer to where you want to be, Alexi,' Sounds like she wanted to escape to me, where else would she want to be?

Government should Serve To Regulate the Wealthy,institutions/corporations but NOT individuals much?

Government should Serve To Regulate the Wealthy,institutions/corporations but NOT individuals much?
I AM THINKING OF STARTING MY OWN PARTY WHAT DO PEOPLE THINK OF THESE IDEALS WHICH ENCOMPASS THE BEST OF THE BEST FROM IDEAS AROUND THE WORLD? I am thinking of trying to create a party around this basis. Sure individuals must be regulated too but the average everyday person in America the little cleaning lady and the Wal Mart workers aren't having THEIR BEST interests served in America that's the PROBLEM. BASIS FOR ELECTING POLITICIANS: Politicians don't have the attitude that the average poor worker who makes 20 thousand a year is actually MY BOSS since they are the ones who voted me into office and our PAYING MY SALARY with their tax dollars. How can I serve MY BOSS(s) today to make their lives easier? Economy: If you look at countries that have a better economy now and (happier longer living people) Norway Sweden Finland Denmark whom have way more SOCIALISM in their economy compared to America but still incentives to WORK HARDER while at the same time keeping tight tabs on businesses and the wealthy ; Business of a LARGE size like 10 million or more in sales should be REQUIRED TO UNIONIZE like they are in Denmark no more of this Wal Mart low pay taxpayers take the social security tab nonsense anymore. You are allowed to make a profit but you will pay; In countries like Denmark though you need to pay a 90% tax if you are making millions (just as the wealthy were back in the 50s in America). Elected officials shouldn't represent someone who makes 100 million getting to keep 80 million why does anyone need that kind of money and why should you care? They can do with 10 and the other 90 million can be used for EDUCATION AND HEALTHCARE. Gun rights: Gun rights are a MUST to protect people, however training courses in the basics of firearms and why we have them should be TAUGHT IN HIGH SCHOOL as a required class by professionals using blanks and other safety mechanisms. Having an armed society is essential, but having an armed society that doesn't know the power of what they have is a disaster. An 18 YO with an 44 magnum not knowing how to use it is a recipe for a gun ACCIDENT and most gun accidents happen because the individual didn't KNOW how to properly use the gun. By the same token here in Montana there are few burglaries since people who are criminals are afraid of being shot as they should be if they are endangering someone's family, house or property. Healthcare: Everyone should be entitled to "reasonable healthcare" as they are entitled to "Reasonable food and shelter". This does not mean that if it costs 5 billion to save your life society should NOT have to spend that much of it's resources to save you sorry. IF however you are sick you should be taken care of even with HIV your getting help shouldn't be dependent on if you are POOR. At the same time healthcare needs a good dose of regulation - healthcare is in favor too much of doctors and PATENT HOLDERS. Much of what is paid goes to companies that invented a new medical device whom are getting EXCESSIVELY rewarded. The government should regulate how much companies can make off a medical patent so as to reward them for inventing something but making sure they aren't making 800% profit margins which happens now that's sick. Doctors especially rich ones who make over a million a year would need to have their salaries analyzed as to see how much they should JUSTLY be paid. This is just some of the things the party would represent I could go on forever but what do people think?

Read John Locke's Treatise of Government. It should be required reading. You will find a lot in common and gain better insight to the philosphies which surrounded the creation of our Constitution. I appreciate you expressing your thoughts but those statements have a long way to mature before they could be used to construct a coherent platform. We all grumble and moan about every issue under the sun. But the bottom line is still taxes. Figure out a way to simplify the tax codes. And in my opinion taxes on earned income is unethical and counter productive in the long run.
2 :
"I AM THINKING OF STARTING MY OWN PARTY WHAT DO PEOPLE THINK OF THESE IDEALS WHICH ENCOMPASS THE BEST OF THE BEST FROM IDEAS AROUND THE WORLD?" You call these ideas "best of the best"? Some of them are downright tyrannical. And some people wonder how the Nazis rose to power. "Business of a LARGE size like 10 million or more in sales should be REQUIRED TO UNIONIZE like they are in Denmark no more of this Wal Mart low pay taxpayers take the social security tab nonsense anymore." See? "You are allowed to make a profit but you will pay; In countries like Denmark though you need to pay a 90% tax if you are making millions " Wheres the incentive to work to be a millionaire if I'm going to be taxed at 90 percent?
3 :
If you require business to unionize then the you will do nothing but drive jobs overseas. Remember that unions distort the labor market by breaking the link between a woker's pay and the value produced by that worker. Your regulation of profits from medical research and innovation will also drive those businesses overseas. You see - for every new drug that makes it to market - 19 failed. Unless you are going to have the government pick up ths costs of the failed drugs - nobody will be able to afford to do medical research if they cannot recoup their money from those drugs that do work. If a doctor is skilled enough that he earns a million dollars a year - then he will likes=wise leave the country for someplace that will pay him what he is worth. And who pays for this 'reasonbable healthcare' for everybody? It sounds like you expect me to not only pay for my family's healthcare - but to pay for your 'free' healthcare also. BTW - how many people in Denmark are subject to this 90% tax? I bet most of them left the country. The next issue you have is that the people whom you want to tax at 90% are the people whose money we need to grow the economy. Who is going to invest in a new business or expanding an existing business if they are only going to keep 10% of what they earn? You need to learn something about economics. . Edit - I just noticed a rather scary Freudian slip on your part. You want freedom for individuals - just as long as they are not wealthy.

What is GMI ? do you know about GMI?

What is GMI ? do you know about GMI?
actually, i am not asking this question to have an answer, but i am asking it to tell you what is this thingy. this company is an illegal company.. it is based on stealing money from people. there isn't any job in this company... the goal of the company is to invite as much as possible people to it, and each one who joins it, must pay 70$.. this is the way how this company earns its money. So every person who joins it, and "Work" for it.. will earn money from the new comers who pays the 70$. the job is only in the beginning, and it is, to call 2 friends and invite them to a presentation where the presenter will play his role to play with their minds. after you have 2 of your friends invited under you (it is based on a tree program), these 2 friends must do the same work as you've done before and it is to call their friends and invite them to the presentations. So your work is done from here, and you will earn money with doing nothing... and the logical thinking says, that "No money without work", so there is something not right with this company. it like, one day.. you friend will call you on your phone, and tell you:"hey, how are you? ((How is your job?)), is everything going cool? .. ((Look, i saw something very interesting, and I would like to show you it)) OR ((I have something important that i need to show you it.. and i would like to have your opinion about it)) .. These kinds of words are words of invitation, and after this he will close the line to prevent you from asking more and more about this company. he will tell you, meet me at (...) and at (...) O'clock. when you get there, you will see him with another guy. He should be wearing neat uniform and the guy near him should have some papers. The other guy will show you a presentation about this company.. but be careful, he will try to play with your mind to let you think positively about this company. the most important things he may say: -This is a company from Norway (check this: http://www.norway-lebanon.org/ARKIV/Old_web/business/news/goldmine/) -This company is protected by "Verysign".. so this company protects the economy of the biggest 7 trade companies in the world (but, if you think a little. you will discover that the rulers of the biggest companies in the world are jews, and they're the biggest economical thieves ) -This Company is opened since 11-12 years ago (But I am sure that if you ask all people you know around you [your family, friends ...] no one will tell you that they have heard about it) when he finish the presentation, your mind will be controlled by them, they will make you pay 70$ to join this company. so listen well from here.. if you want to confuse the presenter immediately, tell him: "What if I accept working with you in this company, and I will bring you people as much as you want... but without paying the 70$" He will feel confused in the beginning, but the he will NOT NEVER AND EVER accept your help. and then finally at this presentation, if you wan to let the presenter and the inviter feel surprised, ask them this: " What is the PRODUCTION, of this company??" and you know very well that there isn't any production ... but just ask it to look at their faces. I am sure that they won't have any logical answer for you. we've done some researches about this company with my friend, and here are some results: -The company started from Pakistan. -The owner is persian. -Norway has no information about it. -They have no Official trade mark. -They don't have any legal profiles in all the countries around the world. -Their working system is counted as illegal in USA and some other countries -their offices are hidden in every country they want to steal -They don't open 24/7 as all the normal companies -They don't have a legal phone numbers (official company numbers) Story: I will tell you a small story about the GMI in my country. Me and my friend asked about the office of the GMI, a member told us where it is.. not exactly but the area. we knew the area very well .. but when we got there, we couldn't see any building which must show that this is an official company bldg. we looked around the area for about 10 min. but we couldn't find anything. We asked some Residents who live there, but no one seemed to know this company.. they always answered:"What is this company? and what it is supposed to do?" So you see? no one knows it, even people who lives near it. I hope I explained a lot about this company, and I hope that everyone should be careful from these thieves. (If anyone knows more illegal things about this company, please write your comments)

How to get to another country?

How to get to another country?
Hi, I’m Ali 18 years old, and I’m living in Iraq, I just want to get out of this country because I’m having a hard time with Religious people, because I’m non-Religious, and my life may be on a risk because of Muslims, Quran commands them to kill who denies Islam, Who kills me will get a prize names ( Savab ) in Islam, Savab increases their rank in heaven, ( heh, Nice prize Allah giving for killing, I think mafia is better since their prizes are CASH not imaginary brainwashing things, LOL ). my problem isn’t just this, I also found it hard to live in Iraq, because People are so intolerant, and it’s really hard living in here, very Few clean foods with insane prices, Corruption, Tribe wars, also, There is no future for me here as I’m sure because I like to make music and also the Western kind of music, so yeah, no Future for western like middle eastern in middle east. The country of my dreams was always Norway, Because of its nature and tolerant people, I like Sweden too, I even trying to learn Norwegian language (Hvor er du?). I wanted to see is it possible to gain nationality in Norway and study there to be a musician (I like Philosophy too, but music is the high priority), I also got some nice music’s made (I’m not Professional yet but here is the link so you can see my skill; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ibGCVPBzIY , This song isn’t done yet, I’m thinking of a Vocal for it). By the way, I want to have a shining future, and I will try all I can for it. About the budget I got only about 3-4 thousand dollars, Don’t make fun of me, I worked from my age 16 to 18 to make that much (I graduated from High School at 16), well it was 8,000 but spent 1,000 to survive and live and 2,000 for nose surgery for Breathe ease and 1,000 for a good Laptop, in Iraq people don’t get paid too much. If you think it’s not enough, I think I can make a little more. About my family and parents; they are some fanatic brutal religious people, and they are money lovers and got mixed with religious made a ridiculous parent, and they are like 60 years old, well I don’t blame them because they are brainwashed, and there is no way for them to get out of that religion since they wasted 60 years with it, Sometimes I feel really sad because they could be better people, if Muhammad (Prophet of Islam) didn’t brainwash people, I’m really angry with him. I just got one sister that understands me and she is in Iran (Married there), and I can’t go there for more than 30 days because I don’t have nationality in there and can’t have because I’m an Atheist, I’m going there just for the Nose surgery I’ve told, will last 2-3 weeks. Is there a way that I can work and study in Norway, also I want some time for myself too, I’m not a robot. How can I go there and live there, I will be a refugee? Can I get Visa from here? Is there a problem that I’m from Middle East? I know I made some offenses to Islam, but seriously Islam is the most intolerant and fanatic and brutal thing I ever can imagine in my life, and the worse is that Muslims talk about peace when their killing who denies their religion or who is homosexual, Muslims oppressed me enough and I’ve had enough with them, I won’t be quite anymore, the most simple thing is circumcision I got circumcised when I was less than a years old and it wasn’t my decision, however I’m having my foreskin back with some techniques, but I just wondering what they are thinking by doing that, is this Human Creation fault that Guy’s penis have some foreskin for ease of masturbation or sensation? , let’s say it their way, their Allah made a mistake by making guys penis like this and this guys fixing it???!!!! (Maybe it’s right, Maybe Allah got a little horny when making Guy’s penis, who knows?), what a deep brainwash. Sorry if this question is too long, and thanks for your help and kind attention by reading this.

I'm so sorry you've been through all this :( I've only read a little of the Qu'ran - I'm not religious - and I couldn't see anything horrid in it, but people use religious books to justify atrocities because a lot of people are a$$holes. In the USA people use the Torah and the Bible to justify cutting up their kids. It's no different, really. I'm in New Zealand. We're not as socially progressive as Norway, but more so than the USA. Feel free to apply here and come and make it that way - we can always use more free thinkers :-) Good luck and I wish you all the best in your new home, wherever that may be.
