How can America afford to pay for healthcare reform?

How can America afford to pay for healthcare reform?
Universal healthcare that would give everybody health insurance would be great. Many European countries and Canada have it. But there are few points that I would like to make. -First off, America has over 300 million people where these European countries like Sweden, Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, etc., and Canada don't even have half the population that America does. So insuring 300 million plus would be incredibly expensive. -America is in a major budget deficit and it seems like it is not going to be reduced any time soon. And I know that spending and spending and printing more money will cause inflation to go up and make it even more expensive. Correct? -If Americans want universal coverage they would have to make some sacrifices by accepting cuts in government funding towards other programs. (Public schools, faith based initiatives, defense, social welfare for women who have too many kids, etc.) Government can't solve everything at once. Sorry. So my main point is that I would like to see a universal system that gives everyone coverage. But seriously, how can America afford to pay for it at this time?

In Canada, most private health-care is illegal. All hospitals in Canada are funded by the government without exception. Which means that it's all non-profit. The government collects taxes and pays for everyone's health-care without any shareholders of companies making direct profits out of it. USA now spends a lot more money per person on its health-care than any other country in the world. And the reason why US health-care is so much more expensive is because it's privatized. A lot of companies and businessmen make a lot of money out of it. If USA needs to save money on its health-care. Then doing it the Canadian way would save USA an awful lot of money. But nobody likes to loose profits, even if it's for the good of the country. And that's why it's so hard for USA to create a universal health-care system.

If we can spend trillions on a dumb war, we can reform the healthcare system.

Universal health care is not = universal insurance You are 100% right that universal insurance will fail. Let me just point to you the difference between universal health care and universal insurance. In universal health care you pay 12,000-10,000 depending on income into the government fund to cover health coem tax time. In universal insurance you pay 20,000 a year you pay half and the employer pays the other half, which is 10,000 for you both. This is why I as a conservative oppose universal insurance. 1. The government doesn't need to make billion of dollars in profit, private companies do, if the CEO likes his job. Shareholders don't care how much people you saved, they want to see how much money their investment in an insurance company made 2.Insurance is a ponzi scheme, like social security and it will go broke just like social security 3. the "profits" of private health insurance companies are not profits they are hidden taxes and you as a fellow conservative & tax payer ought to recognize and should be mad as hell like me. 4. We as a nation have control of the government and zero control over the decisions of private enterprises. 1. Forget insurance. Insurance like car insurance and health insurance are big fat scams. 20% of the cost of an insurance company are paying off lawyers to tie people up in courts so you don't have to pay money. This works very well when your client is sick with cancer and can't afford treatment. 50% of people who sue health insurance companies die before the case is decided. Insurance works like this, 1 million people pay 10,000 for insurance. The average cost of a sick person=30,000. If everyone claims in 1 year the company goes broke with 30 billion dollar in debt. So this ponzi scheme takes one payers money to pay off the other hoping not to get caught. I'm sure your wondering well madoff got caught so will these guys. Well if Madoff hired lawyers to sue 50% of his clients who were sick or dying instead of paying out money he would be called an insurance company. I In this example insurance company will only make 10 billion a year if too much people get sick(over 8 billion in cost), it denies those people coverage and says sue me, or your not covered for THAT illness. These 2 billion dollars to 28 billion dolars show up in emergency rooms and get treatment and cause us to pay higher taxes. Now why should people who already pay $10,000 and companies that pay $10,000 have to pay an additional $20,000 in coverage when claims are denied? See if your a private company you must make a PROFIT. so by nature you deny some sick people with legal tricks. This is why people say we cannot afford to not to fix healthcare. The insurance companies levy a 20,000 tax on every man woman and child they deny a claim on tax payers and businesses who are already paying this. Hence America has the highest cost in the world There are 2 solutions. -Make it downright illegal for companies to deny claim. -Have the government run the "insurance" so that no one is denied and we only pay once. Hey its better to pay $10,000 tax to a government run company once for care than to pay 10,000 twice and have no insurer. -Lastly I did not even mention the scams that hospitals run against insurance companies. Like hospitals charge people $75 a day for a pillow and $50 for a 10 cent tynelo tablet. Why? When a hospital is run by a private enterprise the focus is to make money and milk the patient who has no choice but to pay for every cent. When a hospital is run by a semi-government organization the idea is to be effective as possible, Your bonus is not tied to profits, you do not benefit by ripping off people monetarily. If the government charges itself $75 for a pillow no one loses or gains. If a private hospital charges a patient covered by insurance or the government $75 for a pillow, that private hospital that saw 50,000 people on beds just made 8.75 million dollars. So if the government paid for those emergency visits, then you are now pay 8.5 million dollars more tax. If a insurer paid for it, and its limit is 8 billion in pay outs, its now denying an addition 283 VALID claims of people who could be dying of legitimate diseases that they are covered for.
