Why do people make more money in Qatar, Luxembourg, Norway, and Singapore than the USA?
I was checking out GDP per a capita and it's kind of sad to see America no longer is leading. Does this not worry other Americans? This site lists three sources.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_(PPP)_per_capita It's expense for Americans who travel in Europe cause our dollar is devalued so bad. The Euro is worth more... - Yeah it's going to cost more USD to buy something in Euro.... - It's not that hard to see Cold hard fact and V2... Thank you Great answers

Obama can find the solution if he listens to this man: http://www.ontheissues.org/2008/Barack_Obama_Free_Trade.htm OBAMA: For far too long, certainly during the course of the Bush administration with the support of Sen. McCain, the attitude has been that any trade agreement is a good trade agreement. And NAFTA did not have enforceable labor agreements and environmental agreements. And what I said was we should include those and make them enforceable. In the same way that we should enforce rules against China manipulating its currency to make our exports more expensive and their exports to us cheaper. And when it comes to South Korea, we’ve got a trade agreement up right now, they are sending hundreds of thousands of South Korean cars into the US. That’s all good. We can only get 4,000 to 5,000 into South Korea. That is not free trade. We’ve got to have a president who is going to advocate on behalf of American businesses and American workers and I make no apology for that Source: 2008 third presidential debate against John McCain Oct 15, 2008 Global trade is unsustainable if it favors only the few This is the moment when we must build on the wealth that open markets have created, and share its benefits more equitably. Trade has been a cornerstone of our growth and global development. But we will not be able to sustain this growth if it favors the few, and not the many. Together, we must forge trade that truly rewards the work that creates wealth, with meaningful protections for our people and our planet. This is the moment for trade that is free and fair for all. Since he has taken office, he has done the exact opposite of what he himself declared during the campaign.

It has been this way for a long time. The US hasn't led in decades. Norway, unknown to most, is the worlds 3rd largest exporter of oil and the country only has 4 million people. Qatar- same reason: lots of oil and a small population. Luxembourg is the world's second largest investment fund center. All sorts of major corps are based there because of that - ebay, skype, etc. The country also has less than half a million people Singapore- Has the freest markets in the world ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singapore#Economy ) It has one of the busiest ports in the world. The population is under 5 million. There you go!

Although I am not a big fan of Lou Dobbs, but "war on middle class" has it consequences. Many Americans still prefer to be blind about widening gap between riches and poor. Diminishing middle class is the result why USA is becoming more like Latin America and why ,on average, GDP per capita is falling. Qatar and Norway also have high revenues from oil. It helps.
